How to Stay Healthy While Losing Weight

The issue with a lot of diet plans out there is that they often require you to take extreme measures for weight loss. While a change is obviously required to illicit a transformation of body composition, going to far into a calorie deficit or in a just plan weird direction(a lot of plans do this) will only end up failing and damaging your health.

Eating too few calories will halt your metabolism and put you into starvation mode. This has more negative effects than meets the eye. Lacking in blood sugar makes the mind, namely your will power, weak. Having weak willpower for even a moment can spell disaster for your diet plan.

You need calories to actually exercise efficiently and effectively. Without enough energy, you simply wont get results out of your workout plan as your body will not have the energy to sustain a great effort. You can benefit much more from a workout fueled by a big (healhy) mean than from not eating at all and moping lazily through your workout.

Being deficient in any nutrients because of a diet with particularly strange restrictions can go very wrong. In the old days, there were many diseases caused by malnutrition such as scurvy and rickets. Do not think that we are so much more advanced as to not be able to experience these ailments ourselves. We have almost certainly experienced mild forms of these kinds of illnesses at one point in our lives. To avoid this, always remember to vary your food choices from time to time and avoid all processed food as it contains "empty" calories that are little better than a quick burst of energy then a sudden crash.

Perhaps more important than what to eat is what not to eat. The most damaging ingredients to our health are the ones that are added for preservative, growing, and addictive purposes- trans fats, hormones, pesticides , and excessive saturated fats. These are added to just about all fast food and almost all prepacked food that has undergone any processing at all. Avoiding these substances is key to a healthy, successful weight loss plan.

I hope this article has properly explained to you how to stay healthy while losing weight. Even with all this in mind, you don`t have to give up on diet plans entirely. There are still a few that will work(and not damage your long term health) if you stick with them.
