Keeping Your New Years Resolutions - Use Technology

Keeping New Years resolutions is difficult. Let’s face it. They are easy to make, and like any goal, tough to achieve unless you have help: something to keep you committed to your goal. These days there are many new techno gadgets that can help you in keeping your New Years resolutions.

If you are considering losing weight, adopting a healthier lifestyle, volunteering more of your time, or whatever it is, consider trying something different this year and use technology.

Use Your Social Network

If you want help staying committed to your goals, just post them on whatever social network you use. If you tell your friends that you want to lose twenty pounds and how you are going to do it, you can bet they will be glad to “tweet” you often to see how you are doing. If you know you are going to have to stay accountable to your friends you are less likely to lose focus. You can also post your success comments.

Set Reminders and Alarms.

Use your smartphone to set up your schedule so you will be reminded it’s time to do the things you said you were going to do. If you have planned ahead and set time to accomplish something, being reminded to get going will keep you focused on achieving what you said you were going to do in keeping your New Years resolutions.

Get a New Gadget.

If you have stayed committed after a month or so, to your goals, and there is a new gadget that would even help you more, then reward yourself. If your goal was to read more and you are accomplishing that, get an e-reader to make it even easier to read.. If your goal is weight loss and you have shed weight and are on track, reward yourself with a fitness gadget to help you continue to make weight loss fun.

Use the Internet Communities.

Whether you are pursuing weight loss resolutions or other goals, you can find an online community to unite with. Having others online share in your goals is another way to stay committed to your resolutions. For example, if you are looking to lose weight and want a community that shares goals, weight loss progress, recipes, and encouragement, than beyond the diet is a great place to get that help.

Start a Blog.

Since having a journal to document weight loss is such a great way to stay focused on your goals, go hi tech and create a blog to further your goals. There are free sites that you can use to create any kind of blog you want. You can post pictures, thoughts, progress, anything you like, and share with your friends to help keep you on track.

If you use these few simple technology ideas to help you in keeping your New Years resolutions, you will have a much better chance at being successful. Franz wishes you all the best in accomplishing your New years resolutions!
