Lose Baby Weight Diets

How can diet help you lose baby weight? In one of my other articles I mentioned that diet can have up to 90% effect of the amount of weight you lose. I think that alone shows that your diet is key in losing weight after having your baby. Below I’ll touch briefly on 2 of the more popular lose baby weight diets that are available today.

So how can diet help? Well a lot of people think that if they train like an animal they can get away with eating whatever they want. This is weight loss myth #1! Ever heard you are what you eat? Well it is very true. By eating the right kinds of foods for you goals, you will see quicker results, you will feel better and you will be able to perform better when exercising. This means you will have more time to do the things you love, like spending time with your new family!

The first diet I want to discuss is the ever popular low carb diet. This involves cutting out all carbohydrates that are not from green vegetables. The body uses 2 types of fuel for energy, fat and carbohydrates. When carbohydrates are depleted the body switches to fat for its primary source of fuel, meaning all those extra pound that are built up around your belly and thighs will be used to power your workout. Low carb diets are rather simple to follow as you can get into an easy routine with the foods you eat. One drawback of low carb lose baby weight diets is that it is recommended that you must wait until your baby is on solid foods if breastfeeding. This means you will have to wait a little longer before starting.

The second diet I will talk about is another popular, but less publicised diet of low fat. Low fat diets involved you consuming a moderate amount of protein and carbohydrates with minimal fat. By limiting the amount of fat you consume the body will be more efficient at using the carbohydrate for fuel rather than using a mix of both and storing the leftovers on your hips! It is impossible to cut out all fat from a diet as the body needs healthy fat for many things, brain function and skin health to name a few. Low fat diets can be started at any time after child birth, and provide a well balanced variety of foods. Although some people may find low fat lose baby weight diets hard to stick to due to the lack of sweet food available.

Whatever lose baby weight diet you decide to follow, make sure you research and plan the foods you will be eating. This will make the temptation of straying from the diet and over indulging, taking you right back to where you started. There are many food lists relating to both low fat and low carb diets out there. As well as guidelines to make the process simpler and easy to understand.
