PRACTICE

Practice your routine as many times as possible. Poses, speeches, presentation, even your stage smile! Usually you have very limited time on the spotlight in front of the judges and you need to make every second count. So practice each and every thing multiple times before the big day! It usually helps to video tape these practice sessions as you can watch what you are doing wrong and which part you need to focus on more.

STUDY

Do a research on who you are competing against, who your judges are etc. The last thing you want is to stumble upon a surprise! Know exactly what the strengths and weaknesses are of the other contestants and work on yourself accordingly. Also, studying the past competitions is very important as this will give you the exact idea of what the judges really notice and give the most points for!

FOLLOW THE RIGHT COACH

This is very important, especially if you are competing for the first time! Choose a coach who has preferably competed in the same or similar competition as they are more experienced in the field and know all the secrets for such competitions. Having an experienced mentor helps a lot as they monitor your progress and tell you exactly what needs to be done to achieve your goals.

PLAN YOUR DIET

Obviously eating clean and healthy comes on the top of the list when preparing for competitions, photo shoots etc. However, it’s very important to prepare your diet weeks before your big day. Note down your daily meals on paper and get everything ready before hand. Consistency is the key to being stage ready or winning competitions. You wouldn’t want to ruin your diet due to limited nutrition or supplement supplies.
