I really do not like the word "diet". It has such a bad reputation. That's because there are a number of online weight loss and diet plans out there all promising more weight loss, flatter abs, better skin, etc. Some of these diets are laughable, others downright dangerous. With the advent of the internet, so much more information is available - good and bad.

Losing weight and eating healthy foods do not have to be complicated. A good, healthy weight loss plan also needs to take into account the long term diet and maintenance. A good question to ask yourself is, "is this diet sustainable?"

I've been doing a lot of research lately to find legitimate, effective weight loss products and health related information to offer my readers. I was pleasantly surprised to find there are several healthy, realistic diets that can be accessed on the internet. We can calculate our BMI, food and fitness planners, charts and graphs following your weight loss and you can connect with others that are dealing with the same issues in chat communities.

Once you find an online, interactive diet that is compatible with your lifestyle, you need to: Establish Healthy Habits Set Realistic Goals Be Physically Active and Stay Motivated The diet you choose should help you with this action plan and also provide you with a progress chart and a diet and exercise journal. If you find a diet you really like and believe it will work for you and it does not offer any of these tools, you can find them on various different websites.

Establishing Healthy Habits - This is a tough one. You have to identify the triggers that send you to the refrigerator and stop them before they happen. Make a plan; write down your triggers and and your alternatives. Are you an insomniac and find yourself eating late at night? Or do you often eat out because of your business? How can you avoid blowing up your diet? Only you know what works best for you.

If your Goals are not Realistic, you are setting yourself up for failure. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week. Instead of saying you are going to lose 10 pounds over the holidays, you accept a 5 pound weight loss or maybe just not gaining any weight at all. Your goals for your exercising should be equally realistic. You are not going to look like Jillian Michaels in 3 months. If you are spending too much time at the gym and are too tired to do your other normal activities, you're going to burn out and quit.

Staying Motivated is the hardest part of your action plan. You need to find others with similar goals to help you get through the rough times. Online communities, overeaters meetings, meditation or a combination of healthy motivational tools. This is my goal at helpforyourweightloss. You need to be able to share, to listen to other people's issues in a safe, caring environment that offers the options you need for your success.
