If you want your body to keep burning calories nonstop and increase your rate of metabolism, then you have to build lean muscle mass. Lean muscle mass creates a greater calorie deficit even when in resting mode. Here are some of the exercises that will help you in enhancing your muscle mass and paving a way for a flatter tummy.

The bicycle exercise:

Lie down on your back and brings the arms to the back of the head. Then start bringing your knees to your chest and raise your shoulders off the floor at the same time. Gradually get your right elbow to touch your left knee while you straighten your right leg. Swap the sides and carry on the pedaling step. Do 3 sets with 12 repetitions.

Engage in plenty of aerobic exercise:

You can choose your own favorite activity and keep working on it five times a week for 40 minutes to tone your abdominal muscles. Running, jogging, swimming, bike riding, walking at a brisk pace and jumping rope are excellent workouts that target total body fat by increasing the rate of metabolism and accelerating your calorie burning process.
