The Hidden Diet Monster

Have you ever started a weight loss diet only to experience these terrible side effects. A day or two after you have launched your weight loss campaign you suddenly find your weight loss has screeched to a halt and you are feeling ill. Perhaps you are also experiencing headaches, fatigue and flu like symptoms. What is going on?

What Is Going On?

These type of symptoms are more common than people realize and it causes an untold number of people to quit their weight loss diets. The culprit for this type of reaction comes from two sources and sometimes both of these sources at the same time.

Addicted

One of the first things to consider is addictions you may have developed to caffeine and/or alcohol. If your weight reduction diet restricts your intake of these substances, this can result in physical withdrawal symptoms. This is where your headaches and fatigue may be coming from.

These symptoms, contrary to what you may be thinking, are actually positive and should pass with in a few days leaving you with increased energy and a much healthier body.

Toxins

As you go about your daily eating, you are consuming a lot of toxins from pesticides to just plain pollution. Your liver deals with most of these toxins but a portion of these toxins get trapped in your fat and stored in your fat cells.

Once you go on a reduced calorie diet your body begins converting your stored fat into fuel for the its use. This also releases the stored toxins which can interfere with your metabolism cause your weight loss to stall. These toxins can also give you flu like symptoms and put an extra strain on your liver.

There are 4 things you can do to aid your body in dealing with these toxins.

  • Flush them
  • Trap and expel them
  • Strengthen your liver
  • Break them down with enzymes

Doing these things are easier than it may seem. Almost all of them can be done with the right food choices.

Flush Them

Flushing toxins is as simple as drinking plenty of fluids and it is one of the best ways to deal with toxins. Make sure you drink 64 ounces of water a day. This can include diet sodas, unsweetened green tea and any other fluids that are sugar free.

Trap And Expel

If you make cocktails of certain kinds of oils and citrus juice, the oil will trap toxins in it and expel them from your body. Drinking a glass of this mixture each morning is a great way to start off your day.

Strengthen Your Liver

Your liver's main function is to filter the blood and remove toxins from it. Eating certain kinds of food greatly enhances your livers functionality and boosts its ability to deal with toxins.

Enzymes To The Rescue

Enzymes are natures tools to help break apart certain chemical structures. Without them some substances can not be processed by the body. This is true of many toxins. As long as the toxin's chemical structures remain in place, they will do damage to your system. There is a class of vegetables that provide the enzymes for the body to use to break down these toxins into harmless substances.

If you use these strategies you will not only have a much more successful weight loss diet, but you will also experience increased energy and enjoy a much healthier body.
