Ya, Franz here again! Okay, you can’t look pumped up vith ze bulging muscles if you are carrying around the spare tire, muffin top, turkey neck, or the ever popular tank a$$ – God forbid a combination of those! All that fat is hiding the beautiful muscle that could be seen if not for all the extra, well Franz likes to call it flabitude! So, to begin, the process of shedding the pounds has to start with the most important thing, before even cutting the calories and increasing ze pumpitude! This is the secret to weight loss. And it starts with The Secret.
Back a number of years ago Rhonda Byrne created a movie titled, The Secret. The premise is that by the law of attraction, what you think about the most you will attract into your life. And, if you put strong feelings into those thoughts, the law of attraction will work overtime to bring those thoughts to you. I was fascinated by that thought and had never heard it presented the way she did in the movie. So I started to think about examples in my own life when I may have attracted good things and bad things.
Have you ever had a day when you just felt like a lemon tree? If someone could just squeeze you out would they be able to make sour lemonade? We all get in those moods! Hay, just listen to the news and that is an instant way to become a lemon tree! Okay, I was having a day like that. Unfortunately I was getting ready to move my RV from the West Coast to Florida. A long way to go! I wanted my axles serviced before the trip so I made an appointment. All the while, in my lemon tree mood, I was thinking, boy, I sure hope nothing goes wrong. I need to hit the road and who needs delays.
Looking back, all I was thinking about were problems, and with a fair bit of feeling I might add. The short end to the story is I wound up stuck for two weeks while they fixed a stripped axle spindle. It basically cost two grand for a new dually axle, a special order no less. Yikes! The rest of the trip to Florida continued on that theme as my wife and I continued to say to each other, “what’s next!” You see, we were expecting bad things to happen, and that’s exactly what we attracted! Think about it in your own life. When you have felt good did good things seem to happen in your life? How about when you felt bad and had one of those days when bad things just seemed to keep happening? It’s a snowball effect with the law of attraction. It works both ways!
But Franz you say, how is this relevant to weight loss and the secret to weight loss? Well, can it be as simple as if you think your fat you’ll bring more fat to your body, or if you think you’re thin, you’ll bring more thinness to yourself? Can it be? Stay with me here! If all you do is look in the mirror and see a fat person, and you are thinking to yourself, “I’m always going to be fat, what’s the use, I’ll only gain it back anyway, but I am going to try and lose some weight”, you are subconsciously attracting to yourself activities that will continue to lead to keeping the same weight or even adding more weight. You subconsciously sabotage yourself. Why, because all you see in the mirror is a fat person instead of the person you want to be.
Do yourself a favor and get a picture of yourself when you looked the way you want to look now. Post it everywhere around the house, your car, your office (that will get some laughs, eh?), and anywhere you will see that picture all the time. If you don’t have a picture, find one that you like and cut out a picture of your head and put it on that body. Get it in your mind that “I am going to look and feel great when I look like my picture!” Say or think it with great feeling, happiness, and joy. Lemon trees don’t work here but the right state of mind does! Instead of thinking, “I know I am going to fail,” you should put all your focus on thinking and repeating to yourself over and over, “I know I can change the way I eat, get more exercise, and change my life forever!” Just replace all the negative self talk and you will attract the body you are looking for.
This is a big topic, with many more details that can be discussed to really perfect using the secret to weight loss. But the premise is simple, and I have given you enough to get started by simply by thinking positive thoughts and attaching strong feelings to them. Of course you then have to begin eating properly and starting some form of exercise to get the weight off. Positive affirmations alone will not do the work. They are however the start of your new eating and fitness regimen. Try saying to yourself often, “eating a healthy food diet, enjoying healthy food snacks, and taking a walk helps me to look and feel great!” That self talk will attract your goal weight to you and before you know it you will be writing to Franz and telling me how great you feel and how good the reflection looks to you in the mirror.
