The Truth About The Jennifer Hudson Diet

There is no denying that tabloid junkies and fans of singer Jennifer Hudson have seen a dramatic and impressive change in her physique. The 29-year-old singer, who first captivated audiences in 2004 on American Idol, is now capturing our attention for losing an astounding total of 80 pounds while on the Weight Watchers food plan. Since April 2010, Hudson has been the most recognizable face and spokesperson touting the service that transformed her body; but while she has achieved irrefutable success, there are some important things to consider before you hop on the bandwagon in your own pursuit of weight loss success.

Weight Watchers is one of the most recognizable names in the multi-billion dollar diet and weight loss industry. It’s acclaimed for its foundation on science based methods to achieve weight loss and its sense of community. Its most notorious diet food plan is the PointsPlus program; here, various foods are assigned points and dieters are allotted a certain number of points per day. This is a great system in theory because it gives people a certain amount of freedom when it comes to making their own food decisions; however, it neglects to enforce healthy food choices that will ensure the type of weight loss most people are looking for.

The truth is that most people aren’t looking to merely lose weight; rather, they are looking to become leaner, healthier, and completely transform their body. The Jennifer Hudson diet is an example of a system that has the potential to yield those results. The momentum diet –known in many circles as “the Jennifer Hudson diet”- factors in an exercise element in order for the dieter to gain more points. It is also welcoming to all foods, as long as their consumption is in accord with the overall plan (moderation). These are all good things and they are proven to yield a certain amount of success, but the Jennifer Hudson diet isn’t for everyone, and here’s why.

Chances are that most of us know someone who has failed on Weight Watchers for one reason or another. Most people lead very busy lives and don’t have the time to keep up with the regular meetings that apparently make the service so effective. Additionally, the cost of maintaining your membership to Weight Watchers is a minimum of around $480/per year – an expense that most people would prefer to go without. When you factor in these considerations, it’s no surprise that Weight Watchers participants only average an annual net weight loss of 6 pounds. Regardless of where you’re at in your personal fitness, 6 pounds/per year does not sound like the kind of life-changing weight loss we’ve seen from Jennifer Hudson.

So it seems we have uncovered some important information in this article. We’ve learned that lasting weight loss can be achieved even when eating an array of your favorite foods and we’ve learned the value of support from a weight loss program. Unfortunately, the Weight Watchers option poses a hefty economic hit to most people, and it seems to require more of a commitment than most people are prepared to give. Perhaps then, it’s best to look for similar programs that are less time-consuming and expensive.
