What you want to consider at the out set is what you want to achieve, is there a specific amount of weight you are trying to lose, or just weight loss for the sake of appearance. At any event lets see what we are faced with. A pound of weight is equal to 3,500 calories, that's what you've either got to burn off through exercise or lose as a result of reducing your food intake. 3,500 sounds like a pretty big number don't you think? But don't let it scare you, its just a guideline to mark what we are dealing with.

So what is the best path to take in order to lose that 3,500 calories and that pound of fat? You should look for ways to reduce you consumption of food by 500 calories per day. By doing this you can expect to lose a pound every seven days: 500 x 7 = 3,500. You can find various ways to cut 500 calories a day out of your diet. Everyone loves bread, one slice of bread averages about 70 calories. If you reduce your bread consumption by one slice per meal, 70 x 3= 210. You've saved yourself 210 calories just by cutting out a few slices of bread. Does that seem hard, I don't think so.

You are well on your way to losing weight. Get yourself a calorie counter,read the labels on your food choices, you'll find many ways to cut back those calories. Now to really get moving with those weight loss efforts add in exercise. You need to commit to exercising 30 minutes a day most days of the week. But you can break your exercise up into ten minute intervals or do it all at once. Its really up to you, do what you are comfortable with. Get on the tread mill for thirty minutes or take a wall to the local mall.

When you go to work if you ride the bus get off one stop early and walk the rest of the way or do the reverse when heading home. If you take the elevator to the tenth floor get off at nine and walk up one flight.Your options are really endless, show some creativity. Remember combining calorie reduction and exercise is a guaranteed formula for progressive weight loss, you can do it, just apply yourself and success is yours.

In order to lose weight you will need to comit to a plan of action you can live with. By focusing on what works

best for you, you'll be able to adopt a weight loss method that you can live with and stay with until you reach

your goal.
