Have you looked in the mirror lately? I mean really looked. Have you noticed that you have to take a deep breath and squeeze your pants together to button them up? Are you buying over sized shirts to kind of hide that bulge around your belly? Yes I know I am gaining a little weight and I'll probably go on a diet when I get time. Have you ever said that? That fat around your belly is called visceral fat and visceral fat and good health are mortal enemies. But most of Americans today doesn't seem to be alarmed at what this midriff fat can do to our health.

There are over 70% Americans today that are over weight taking into count that some of this number are only five to ten pounds overweight. Midriff fat what visceral fat is sometimes called among other slang names gradually comes on you and seems impossible to take off. This fat is linked to several diseases like heart problems, metabolic syndrome and diabetes. midriff fat has been linked to hardening of the arteries, boosting inflammation making a person more likely of having an heart attack.

Metabolic syndrome and visceral can lead up to insulin resistance which is a condition where the insulin becomes less effective in lowering glucose blood levels.Metabolic syndrome or insulin resistance syndrome can lead up to type II diabetes and cardiovascular heart ailments.

So you see that visceral fat can be a life threatening condition and must be taken serious and prevent it from hanging around for years. A diet program can guide you to lose weight but you will have to lead the band. No one can make you attack this problem of midriff fat because you are the quarterback and only you can call the plays. You can reverse your condition if you attack it before the damage is too great. A healthy diet and exercise will help you to shrink the belly fat.

If you are overweight and decide to lose weight you will get help with a good diet program that specializes in fat burning with the food you eat and how to use the metabolism. If you eat in a way to keep the metabolism working in the fat burning mode you can burn fat all day and even while you sleep. Brisk walking and climbing staird instead of riding the elevator will hasten the midriff fat loss.

Visceral fat versus good health are mortal enemies and if you want to have a better chance of living to a ripe old age you need to get on a diet program that will help you lose weight especially the visceral fat. If you can lose weight and change your lifestyle to making the diet program your way of life you will like the way you look and feel much better in the process.
