Walking to Lose Weight Fast – Just Be Sure to Get it Up!

Ya, Franz Here! You must be wondering if Franz is going to talk about porn or something. Well, if it gets people to adopt a healthier lifestyle, then I may go there. Lets be honest, a good roll in the sheets has been known to burn off a few extra calories. Some good activity on your part can burn as many calories as briskly walking a mile. Ya, I think the other is more satisfying though! Well, that’s not what I really wanted to talk about in this article. I want to talk about walking to lose weight fast.

I don’t want you to become obsessed with calories, and counting them all the time, but when it comes to weight loss it is a simple formula: the calories you eat versus the calories that you burn. And, calories are burned by: your body’s daily metabolic functions, in just doing the day-to-day things you do, and in exercise if you do that. So, obviously if you want to lose weight you just need to exercise more, eat less, or do a combination of the two, right? This is not rocket science and I hope you have heard it before. But are you doing it? If not, then I want you to consider walking to lose weight fast!

Walking to lose weight fast is an aerobic exercise that burns fat and can help you to meet your weight loss goals. It’s guaranteed you will lose weight if you combine this activity with a healthy eating plan. But, how many people actually go outside and walk in good weather and never move faster than a leisurely stroll. All physical activity is good, but to really burn fat you need to walk fast to lose weight fast!

Well, what’s walking fast? That is different for every person as each one has his or her own fitness level. For some, getting off the couch and walking to the kitchen will create some heavy breathing, while others can walk three to four miles per hour, for 30 minutes, and barely break a sweat. If you are a beginner, just get out and walk ten minutes. If that works okay extend it to twenty minutes the next day. Than push it to thirty minutes, and so on till you max out at 60 minutes.

How many calories can you burn in a good walk? Well, if you decide to try walking to lose weight fast you can burn the following:

If you are 150 lbs, you can burn 90 calories per mile.

If you are 200 lbs, you can burn 120 calories per mile.

If you are 250 lbs, you can burn 150 calories per mile.

If you are 300 lbs, you can burn 180 calories per mile.

If you are 350 lbs, you can burn 210 calories per mile.

If you are 400 lbs, you can burn 240 calories per mile.

These are just estimates of course, but you get the idea. This is a significant exercise activity that can help you shed the fat! If you are not able to walk outdoors, treadmills are a wonderful alternative. Ya, Franz lived at 9,000 feet above sea level for twenty five years, so he used the treadmill a lot! With a treadmill you can increase the incline to whatever value you like to raise the sweat factor, thereby burning more calories. Hey, walking is cheap if you can do it outdoors, it can be done by any one at any fitness level, and best of all it is an injury-free activity. You will not injure healthy joints just taking a brisk walk.

So, listen to Franz and get out there, just do it, or use any other advertising slogan that is appropriate to get you motivated to head out the door! Franz walks at least 4 miles every day. It’s just one of many things I do to stay fit. That, plus my healthy eating habits, allows me to get it up any time I want! Get your mind out of the gutter; I am referring to my heart rate!

As always, I wish you vibrant health, many blessings, and a long life!

Ya, zis is Franz signing off!

Great article, I now consider myself pumped up! It's really sad that we even have enough people near the 400lb mark to speak of. Walking is great exercise though, and it makes you feel good just from the fresh air. If everyone would walk just a bit more this country would be so much less fat.

Thanks Wally! Yes, that is exactly how I feel: more walking, less vehicle usage! Keep walking and eating healthfully!! Blessings, Franz

yeah...walking is a good exercise but to me it is only good for those who are extremely obese and find it hard to do anything else. My problem with walking is that is burns too little calories per hour. Often you'll need 2-3 hours of walking a day just to burn off a good amount of calories. Is walking good? Yes. Is it a great exercise for weight loss? No. Whats great for weight loss? Weight Training. There are many papers published that have confirmed that weight training is the best exercise for weight loss. Cheers. Yes Ryan! I agree with you! But, for the 2/3 of the population that is clinically obese, that's who this article is written for. I walk 4-5 miles a day because I enjoy it, and use it to get things done, verses taking a vehicle, but also engage in other activities. I personally don't worry about how many calories I'm burning because I'm already fit. People who are going to read this are searching for walking to lose weight and it is they I am targeting. You are obviously healthier than most, and yes, you may need walking at 15% on a treadmill at 3-4 miles/hour, or running to achieve your fitness goals. But that is not most people! Thanks for the input! I hope that clears it up for other people who are inactive and just need to get something started.
