Weight Loss And Toning

No matter which way we look at it, to reduce fat we need to eat less and exercise, there is no magic formula. Having some discipline and self-control will be a huge benefit to any weight loss target.

Some people may want to give a weight loss target a bit of a kick start by fasting for 24 hours. Clinical studies have shown that if you fast correctly, you will lose weight super fast and get rid of horrid body fat. Another benefit to a proper fasting regime is that it will speed up your metabolism, which will aid further weight loss.

It is important to eat healthily and sensibly either after a period of fasting or just generally while you are trying to lose weight. If you don’t eat sensibly during this time your body will draw on muscle as fuel rather than the fat, leaving you with saggy skin and, more often than not, cellulite.

Eating fresh vegetables and fruits, fist and lean meat will help your body to strip the fat and not the muscle during your weight loss programme.

As well as a good healthy diet, fasting and/or exercise regime, a good massage can help to condition the skin and the underlying tissue. Using essential oils in a massage oil can ensure that you are not left with stretch marks or flabby skin.

Using essential oils in a bath, even if you’re not working towards a weight loss goal, can improve the tone and condition of your body tissue.

Here is a list of essential oils that can help attack fat:

  • Basil
  • Orange
  • Lavender
  • Grapefruit
  • Rosemary
  • Sage
  • Thyme
  • Line
  • Lemongrass
  • Pettigraine

These essential oils also have a diuretic effect:

  • Fennel
  • Celery
  • Oregano
  • Lemon
  • Juniper
  • Grapefruit

Below I have listed two synergistic blends that can be used in the bath to help you towards your weight loss goal. Make up the blends and keep them each in a brown glass bottle, then use 6 drops of either blend per bath.

Blend 1

  • Grapefruit – 8 drops
  • Lavender – 4 drops
  • Cypress – 5 drops
  • Juniper – 3 drops
  • Basil – 4 drops

Blend 2

  • Lemongrass – 4 drops
  • Oregano – 5 drops
  • Pettigraine – 8 drops
  • Fennel – 3 drops
  • Basil – 4 drops

I have also listed four toning bath blends. Make up bottles with the proportions outlined below and use for two baths each.

Toning Blend 1

  • Grapefruit – 5 drops
  • Basil – 3 drops

Toning Blend 2

  • Lemongrass – 4 drops
  • Lavender – 4 drops

Toning Blend 3

  • Rosemary – 5 drops
  • Pettigraine – 3 drops

Toning Blend 4

  • Orange – 6 drops
  • Thyme – 2 drops

Again I have listed below four diuretic bath blends. Make up bottles with the proportions outlined below and use for two baths each.

Diuretic Blend 1

  • Cypress – 3 drops
  • Fennel – 5 drops
  • Diuretic Blend 2
  • Juniper – 2 drops
  • Lemon - 6 drops

Diuretic Blend 3

  • Celery – 2 drops
  • Grapefruit – 6 drops

Diuretic Blend 4

  • Lemon – 6 drops
  • Oregano – 2 drops

Another fantastic benefit for weight loss and for the dispersal of cellulite is the draining of the lymphatic system. You will probably need the help of a therapist for the full benefit but there is something you can do at home which will help.

In the shower, you can use cold water (because cold water contracts the lymph and blood vessels) to massage your skin. Work up the inside of your leg, onto your thighs, up past the groin area and then move the water around your tummy area in circular movements, then move the shower head up the inside of your arms to your arm pit. This works really well but the water does have to be cold.

So, just to re-cap, if you are working towards a specific weight loss goal, you can kick start it by using a good fasting regime, then by eating less and healthily and also by using some of the essential oil blends and techniques I have outlined for you here. Best of luck.
