Your body's metabolismdetermines the rate in which your body converts food to energy and how it uses this energy. If your metabolism works at a slower rate, then you do not process the food as efficiently and some of this is converted into storage or fat. If your metabolismworks at a higher rate, you process the food very well and use this energy efficiently storing very little as fat. If you are trying to lose weight, you would want your metabolism to be working at its most efficient point. So,here are somethings that you can do to make your metabolism work at its higher rate all day long.

First, make sure that you eat something for breakfast every day to get your metabolism going. From the time that you eat your last meal of the day until you wake upthe nextmorning is a significant amount of time. If you don't give your body something to begin the metabolic process within the morning, then it will go into what is called "starvation mode". It will try to store as much energy as possible because it believes that it may not get food as it needs it. This energy is stored as fat.

Also, when you eat a meal, your body startes the metabolism process. If you eat too much food, your body will process the amount of food that it needs then it shuts down sending any remaining food into "storage" or fat. If you eat smaller meals more frequently, the body will start the metabolism process and process the food taken in, but doesn't shut down. This is because it wasn't overloaded with excess food. So if you want to lose weight, then eat smaller more frequent meals.

Next, try to exercise in the morning if possible. When you exercise, you use your muscles and these are what burn the calories or use the energy. If you get them started up early in the day,then you will be getting the most out of them each day.

Because the muscles are what burn the calories that we take in, the larger the muscle group, the more calories you will burn. The three largest groups of muscles in your body are the legs, back and chest. So if you want to burn the most calories, you will want to concentrate on these three areas. If you get these main areas started early in the day, just think of how many calories you will burn and the weight loss youcould have!

Fiber takes longer for your body to process. The longer it takes your body to process something then the longer themetabolic process is working. So if you change your eating habits to include more foods containing fiber, then you will be adding another way to keep your metabolism working at its best.

These are just some of theways thatyou can keep your metabolism at its most efficient. If you can optimize your metabolism, then you will have much more success with anyweight loss that you are trying to achieve.
