Knowing What Glasses Are Right for Your Red Wine, White Wine, And Port Wine

A lot of people still to this day do not know how to pour a glass of wine or know what type of glass a certain red, white, or port should be served in. There are lots of sizes of wine glasses for you to choose from but if you choose the correct glass and the right amount of pour then people who are wine drinkers realize you know an understand about your wines.

I learned a lot of this from bartending school that I attended in 2005 here in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. I went to bartending school to understand my drinks so I knew what to ask for in that bar/restaurant as well as trying to get a job someday as a bartender to make great money on the side or when I go to that vineyard and watch how they pour and what glass you get.

Lets start with the white wines, you will grab the average regular glass that you always see and pour just enough before the half way mark. It just doesn't look right with your glass filled all the way to the top.

Red wine needs the bigger wider glass because it needs more air to make the taste better. Same thing, only fill it right before the half way mark. When you are trying wine and if you are having both try to do the white first then the red because the red over power's the white. When you get that pour on your red or white glass of wine, take your glass and swirl it around in circles to get the air into it.

The first thing you are going to do is take a little sip and swish it around in your mouth before you swallow to get that full flavor and bite to your palette to see if you like. Sometimes you might get that bite in your jaw and it is a funny feeling.

Port wines need a small wine glass and only a shot at a time. This is like a desert wine and you only need a little taste to compliment on what you are having as an appetizer. People usually have it with cheese.

You can drink your wine chilled or room temperature it is your preference. I drink my wine room temperature.

I think a glass of wine is classy when you are out at a very nice restaurant. You will see the different types of glasses that wine is served in. Learning this made me more observant when going out anywhere to see how people pour your wine and what type of glass you get. I have a whole collection of wine glasses because this is my favorite hobby and hope to have my site up soon to promote and sell wines of your choice.

I will keep you posted and hopefully after I get everything up and running you will be the first to know and come check it out.
