Hydrotubation technique is the introduction of a fluid (usually a dye) through the cervix (neck) of the uterus under pressure to allow visualization, by laparoscopy, of the passage of the dye through the Fallopian tubes. Hydrotubation technique is to dilate or treat the fallopian tubes by an injection of a liquid medication or saline solution through the cervix into the uterine cavity and fallopian tubes.
Hydrotubation technique is a simple, effective, safe, noninvasive, cost-effective out-patient department (OPD) procedure. Hydrotubation technique should be routinely recommended in all patients undergoing infertility management. And to improve the pregnancy rate, it should be done before going to intrauterine insemination (IUI) and in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVFET)
Nowadays hydrotubation technique is a commonly used treatment for tubal issues. It does great help to female fertility. However, some women appear bleeding or infection after the surgery, which arouses the attention of a lot of female friends.
This technique may be a novel approach to conceiving for those with unexplained or tubal infertility who wish to avoid being automatically offered IVF as a solution to their fertility struggles.
However hydrotubation technique is only suitable for slight tubal problems. And it can bring damage to patients. During the whole process of the treatment with hydrotubation, doctors are operating with hands and judging by their subjective feelings, which is difficult to confirm if it opens the blocked tube totally. What’s more, it is related to individual differences, the sizes of patients’ uterus are different, so that the injection rate will also be different. While doctors even can’t see the size of uterus during the operation. In addition, patients’ tolerances for the pain are different, doctors also could not be sure if the blocked tube is opening totally. At the same time, it’s also difficult to tell the blocked position and judge whether the fallopian tube is blocked at one side or at both sides with hydrotubation. The phenomenon of fallopian tube spasm will occur when patients feel nervous during the inspection period, making the injection face certain resistance and making doctors misdiagnose. Therefore, it’s unreliable to open blocked tube totally with hydrotubation.
Therefore, once experiencing tubal issues, patients are recommended to receive more conservative treatments like traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) treatment. Patients can take a TCM named fuyan pill to get a cure. Fuyan Pill possesses the effect of detoxification and sterilization, could eliminate varied bacteria and virus. It also contains prescription to clear away heat and toxic material, promote blood circulation and dissolve stasis, which help to retrieve fallopian tube movements, clear the tube.
