Three Tips To Help You Lose Weight After Pregnancy

Losing weight for some women comes naturally and easily but most women have a much more difficult time to lose weight after pregnancy. Reasons for this include changes to your body, changes in your daily routine, new baby stress, or continuing to overeat after the pregnancy is over. The following tips helped me to lose weight after pregnancy so that you can get your body back quickly and enjoy the time with your newborn.

While some women choose to not breastfeed, it is a great way to lose pregnancy weight. After childbirth your body will begin to spend extra calories to produce breast milk. These extra calories amount to 300 to 400 calories per day which begin to add up. A typical session on the treadmill is about 200 to 300 calories so do the math. Breastfeeding could help you to lose about a pound a week.

Some women say they have a difficult time to lose weight after pregnancy even while breastfeeding. The reason is that they have reduced the amount of daily calories consumed and they are not drinking enough fluids. These two factors cause the body to produce less breast milk and conserve energy for other body functions.

Following your baby's routine is another tip that helped me out. Your newborn will be taking naps often all throughout the day and may have some trouble sleeping at night. There is nothing worse than feeling exhausted throughout the day because you were unable to get a good nights rest. Try to sleep or nap at the same time as your baby. Getting enough rest helps you to have the energy to exercise, eat right, and care for your baby.

Another of your baby's routine that you should follow is to try to eat when your baby eats. Your baby has a very small stomach and with a faster digestion your baby will be eating many small meals throughout the day. By following your baby's eating pattern after you have become accustomed  will help you to recognize when your baby is hungry. This will also help you to eat many small meals throughout the day. By eating smaller meals you will be better able to control your meal sizes. This will also help you to eat at least five time a day which is an excellent way to increase your metabolism.

Having a new baby will no doubt be a change to your daily life. These tips will help you to cut the stress from these changes as well as help you to focus on what is important. Use this time of change and these tips to alter your routine to maximize your ability to lose weight after pregnancy
