IMPORTANT NOTE:-All individuals work collectively to achieve some Goals in an Organisation. If the contribution from individuals, as assigned to him/her, is not in line with the Goal, the network fails and the Organisation suffers. With the failure of the organisation, the individuals or the employees also suffer. As such to achieve the Goals collectively, the interaction among-st employees is as important as the growth of the Organisation.
Each person is distinct:Human beings are not Robots. They behave as they feel like behaving at any moment. The moment may be effected by their psychology, family background, and nature of job, environmental factors, social and self needs, and the interpersonal culture at the work place.
While Greeting:Smile is a magical expression and improves relations between two persons, even if they have not spoken a word with each other. Meet your colleagues with a smile and express greetings with Hello, Hi. If colleague is a senior or Boss, greet Her/him with Good Morning/ Good afternoon/ Good evening... etc, with a slight not extend your hands to shake with the seniors unless they extend theirs. However, with colleagues of same category, shaking hands is an informal matter. With a woman colleague shake the hands mildly, while between males, it should be strong and firm.Call a person by his first name only if he / she is very informal with you. Formally, a person should be addressed as Ms. for females and Mr. for males followed by her/ his last name.
Talking:While talking to each other paves way for good human relations, it also turns to be negative during hot discussions with irrational and apathetic attitude. Before indulging yourself in informal talks during recess hours or at a meeting, think of possible confrontation with a known colleague. The topic of discussion, if neutral, is not going to crate much fuss and will be enjoyable, but the topics on family, religion, faith, senior colleagues and the nature of Boss may lead to confrontation among-st the people and therefore should be discussed with tolerable emotional and sentimental limits.
Helping each other:While working under same roof, people form a group. The group can be turned to a large family, if the helping attitude develops among-st the people. If they share their knowledge, solve a problems collectively, share the sorrows and enjoy the happiness, the working place becomes a must reach place every day.Noting down blood group of each and every colleague and his/her family members and keep it as record for emergency donation of blood is a good idea to reach to the heart of your colleagues.
Get feedback about yourself:It is human nature to feel that whatever he/she does, is the best. This perception is wrong in a group or society, because we have to interact with others. As we may not like some one’s habits and behavior others may also not like our habits and behavior It is a good practice to get a feed back about you from others and improve upon your habits, behavior and attitude as much as possible. Knowing about yourself gives the scope for introspection and we can find out the areas of self improvement.Remember that if we have to stay with the people we have to mend our behaviour which is acceptable to the majority of the people.
Open House Discussion:Occasionally have open house discussion on work culture of the organisation in presence of senior colleagues. Find out factors which obstruct the human relations and process these to higher ups for betterment of the company and employees.If the people at work place are friendly, if they talk well, if they share the knowledge, joy and sorrow, it may be another home.
