What to Consider When Buying Construction Accessories Online?

Buying construction accessories online can help save quite a bit of money provided that you know where to buy from. Then there are also other things you need to consider mainly because many online stores sell replica accessories which are of low quality.

Buying construction accessories like helmets, goggles, harnesses and earmuffs may seem like a pretty straightforward process made easier by the internet. However, unlike buying an iPhone online there is a lot more research and knowledge that goes into buying construction accessories. Plus, you need to know exactly what you want or you can end up with accessories that are expensive but do not make your life any easier. Below we look at what you should consider when buying online.

The reputation of the online store

Construction accessories range from ones that cost just a few dollars to a few thousand dollars. However, to start off with always buy from a reputed online store that is based in your home country. This is because construction equipment and accessories are heavy so shipping them internationally can be expensive. Plus if you need to send it back to the online store to claim warranty it’s not going to be as expensive as it would if it had to be sent internationally. Many local online stores offer free shipping so that’s an added incentive to buy locally.

The other thing you need to check is the store’s reputation. Search online for store reviews to find out what type of customer service they offer. Then call up the store and see how swiftly they take your call and if they answer all your questions before deciding to buy.

Buy original and not replicas

It’s unfortunate that well-known brands of construction accessories are victims of the knockoff industry. There are many online stores that seem to sell accessories made by well-known brands in the construction industry when in fact they are selling low quality replicas that look like the real thing in pictures but are not. These will often be cheaper than what you can otherwise find. When you see something that is 30% cheaper make sure to ask the store if it’s the real deal or a knockoff. Reputed stores do not sell replicas because those are low quality and considered dangerous in the construction industry.

Do not buy via classified sellers

There are many people on classified websites who seem to be selling some pretty good construction accessories and at a slightly lower price than what you find at online stores. However, the problem with these sellers is that you never know what you’re getting until you actually get it. In some cases they may even charge your credit card and you’ll never get the accessories you buy. Unless you’re buying second hand accessories buying from sellers on classified websites is not a good idea. Even if you buy second hand make sure to visit the seller and check the items before you buy, it may be time consuming but you’ll know exactly what you’re getting.

Power tip

When buying construction related items you want to make sure to check the items as soon as they arrive at your doorstep. If they are damaged or not what you ordered inform the online store right away by calling them up with your order number. This way they can facilitate a replacement immediately. In the event they do not oblige you can always get a charge back on your credit card and send the items back.

I See Safety is one of the leading sellers of high quality construction accessories. Our accessories are of the highest quality and we ship to sellers both within Australia and neighbouring New Zealand.
