The first time I thought of writing an article was when I saw an advertisement promotion about, “30 in 30 challenges”, on the Internet after I signed up with Street Articles during the year 2013. The promotion stated that after completing 30 articles in 30 days I would be awarded the software program called “Traffic Explosion 3.0 – The new rules to internet marketing”. I clucked and said to myself “Traffic Explosion 3.0, you are already my prize”. After I signed up and I received words of welcome and encouragement via my email from Kyle & Carson, who are the Founders of Street Articles.
From I was a child I had the mental concept of taking on any challenge from anyone at any time and refuse to believe that I cannot fail at whatever I will do until I tried, and so I accepted the challenge. This is going to be a piece of cake or a walk in the park, I thought at the time. However, before this I have never written an article before in my life.
The first article I wrote was entitled “What it is like to have a broken heart”, and it was accepted and published. This achievement created a wonderful feeling of warmness that glowed within me and I felt as if I was walking on air. After engaging my family and receiving a few pats on the back, and words of congratulations from Carson, I started making plans for article number two.
“Issues of Photographs”, was my second article and while undertaking this assignment I had to engage in a bit of research and reading to acquire some knowledge of the topic. After making use of some of the information and contributed an adding 50% of my imagination to the success at getting the job done and got to focus on number three.
What seemed like a piece of cake, before become a nightmare, after my completion of the article “How to reduce the Aging process”. It was rejected by Kyle or Carson, who informed me of the horrible news. During a careful examination of my work, I failed to locate the so-called mistakes that I made. However, I touched and dressed it up a bit and after observing the work, I thought to myself,” I am the man”, and patted myself on the head, then I sent it off. The next day I was filled with delight because I know in my heart that I had sorted out the issues, but upon viewing my email, which said that it was rejected for the second time.
I ventured in vexation while scratching my head wondering what I done wrong to deserve another rejection.
The rules of the “30 in 30 challenge” stated that one article should be completed per day for 30 days. If an article got rejected that means you have to complete two articles for the day and in the case of rejection two times in a row means four articles for the day. Consider that I was just a beginner, a new writer who was just learning the rope. I fixed the article and sent it off for the second time and the next day I received an email from one of the Founders, with the announcement that I failed again. This was not the grand news I was hoping for.
I fell in a rage and turned my back on my computer for a total of five days. After the fifth day, I mustered up the courage and surfed to Street Article to view the rules and regulations and there I spotted the mistakes that I made in my third article. Under the heading of the title “Communicating within Street Article Is Power”, which is on the page, blog Street Article, the section that states “(4) Be helpful”. When we write articles we should ensure that it is beneficial and helpful, in so doing the content will be appreciated plus and the more engagement and feedback one receive is the better one become at writing.
While, crafting my third article I lost my way by forgetting that the majority of individuals who venture online do not do so just for the pleasure of reading but they are mainly seeking articles that can be helpful to them such as those that offering encouragements and solve problems that they encounter on a daily base. This is one vital rule to keep in mind always.
Kyle and Carson, I extend my sincere thanks to you both for this experiences and I am very grateful for the creation of Street Articles for living up to its motto “Where, Writers Become Authors and for the opportunity extended, the encouragements and challenges. I may not be an excellent writer but in due course I will get there, for the more one practice is the better one become. To all who which to master the craft of writing, the best teacher can be yourself with practice but always ensure that you follow the rules and regulations from the guidance and instruction of the masters.
