I was recently reading up on third world hunger and issues and decided to share my thoughts with some friends and realized while discussing third world hunger and issues with them that they weren’t that aware of it. How much do we really know about the Third world? By the words third world we know that it’s an undeveloped nation full of poverty.
The definition Third World only scratches the surface. What about all the people dying of diseases. Disease is a huge factor in a third world country because many do not know they have it or of the symptoms. Another reason Third world countries have so much disease is because most people who live in a third world country do not have access to the same health care that we get in the United States so once they get pain they ignore it.
Another big problem in third world countries is undocumented births so many are born at home and not accounted for. This means that they don’t exist so they can’t get jobs or own anything. Another big issue is danger the streets are filled with dangerous people from gangs to pick pocketers. For example when Americans go over to Mexico for a vacation they are not allowed to leave the resort because of kidnapping and murders to Americans.
A third World country also has a lot of prostitution because jobs are so scarce. This means that the job market has a lot of occupational hazards. For example STD’s and HIV spreading from individual to individual. Not to mention in some cultures the man goes out and works and might be sleeping with other women and bringing the disease home.
In the United States the recession has brought us nothing but new unwanted surprises but looking into the world perspective we are still better off than a Third World country. Here in the United States they have food banks and shelters for the homeless to live in while in third countries there are no such things. In a Third World country food and a roof above your head is a luxury.
When it comes to our recession there are plenty of sad situations it seems every time they say it’s going to get better its worst. Students are graduating college with no guarantee of a job not to mention they still have to pay for the school loans with no jobs. In a recession people are slowly weakened by what has happened.
I believe that we should not be weak but learn from the past. The past hurts but if you learn from it you will avoid it next time around.
