Having problems with how to begin writing a piece of work? You're not alone, most writers begin out with a lack of confidence and a lack of self belief. This article will show you a few simple ways on how to begin writing a short story, article, review - whatever you see fit to write about.
I have been writing online now for the last four years. I needed to learn how to begin writing as part of a marketing course I was taking. I did not hold out much hope at first as I had not written anything since I was in college ( I'm 37 now - that was a long time ago ). I found it's just like anything in life - you have to get things wrong before you get things right.
No matter what I am writing, I like to lay out in the same way. I find if I use an article layout for my writing it works nearly every time. The first factor is the amount of time you spend to prepare the article/essay/story. At first it will probably take you at least 30 minutes to and hour to prepare your writing. The more you do it the quicker it will get.
I always set things out in this order - Introductory paragraph, main body paragraphs and a summary paragraph. If you split it up into these three categories it already seems a little simpler. You do not have to do this for every piece of writing - I tend to use it more as a guide. The second trick involves the introduction to the writing and the summary ( last paragraph ). When writing an article or a essay these two sections can remain the same. I'm not saying repeat the first paragraph word for word - the first section is stating what the article is looking to cover, the last paragraph is pointing out what the article or essay actually did cover.
This technique tends to work more when learning how to begin writing an article or an essay. For writing longer pieces of work using bullet points as a guide is often easier and helps you stay on track. Distractions are all around us no matter where we plan to write our work - bad start. Close down all other pop ups or windows on your computer - you don't need to know who's doing what on Facebook, not for an hour or so anyway. Putting aside an hour free of any sort of distractions will improve your writing and your flow tenfold.
So when learning how to begin writing try to lay out the piece in simple sections first. Constructing your writing this way will make things simpler. The more preparation before hand the better. The longer your article or essay the more chance of distractions - try to isolate yourself until the writing is complete. Believe in yourself and your ability to write.
